The Office of Online Education is pleased to announce their Summer Teaching Colloquium. Wake Forest faculty are invited to join a cohort of up to 12 colleagues from across the university to reflect on their experiences in the classroom, digital or otherwise, over the past year with an eye towards a post-pandemic educational landscape. This one-week experience will focus on inclusive learning design in the digital learning environment and its relevance to future teaching efforts: in-person, online, and otherwise. Following the colloquium, instructional designers in Online Education will work with faculty participants to implement a revision of the instructor’s choosing to an existing course. The Office of the Provost is providing $2000 grants to faculty participating in the colloquium and the subsequent course redesign.

Colloquium Details
Dates: July 26 – 30
The colloquium will include both in-session and out-of-session work. Live sessions will occur from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm with a break for lunch. This will be a participatory week in which individuals share about their recent teaching experiences, engage with conversations and scholarship from across higher education, and consider strategies for integrating inclusive teaching practices in digital learning environments into their future courses.
Following the colloquium, each participant will be paired with an instructional designer from the Office of Online Education to implement a new aspect or chosen revision for at least one of their AY 2021-22 courses.

Applications for participation should be submitted by Friday, May 21. Awards will be announced the following week.
